[12:20]micheleC: @blu256 Hi Philippe
[12:21]blu256: Hello Michele
[12:21]blu256: Long time no see :)
[12:21]micheleC: yeah, I was typing the same thing :-)
[12:21]micheleC: busy few weeks for me
[12:22]blu256: I'm still on my trip but thought I'd check out how things are going with TDE
[12:22]blu256 has quit (Client Quit)
[12:23]micheleC: it has been a bit quiet lately. mostly working on tqtinterface merge into tqt3 for R14.2.0

[12:23]blu256: I see
[12:23]blu256: How much of that work has been completed?

[12:25]micheleC: a lot, now I am on the last step: unify all the header files in a consistent "tq*" naming. No more "ntq*, tq* and q*" mix
[12:25]blu256: Wow, very nice
[12:25]micheleC: will probably take a few more weeks considering my workload outside of TDE
[12:25]micheleC: and also the documentation gets updated in this step, so it is consistent. Only TQ* classes everywhere
[12:26]micheleC: this won't be backported to R14.1.x, it is only in R14.2.0
[12:26]blu256: How will the documentation be updated? Manually?
[12:26]blu256: AFAIK tqt3 does not use doxygen
[12:27]micheleC: no, it has its own qdoc tool, which is not in tqt3 though
[12:27]micheleC: qt4 contains qdoc, but probably we would need to adapt it a bit
[12:27]micheleC: but with Slavek we discussed a few times about switching to some other documentation platform at some point
[12:27]blu256: Yes indeed, that is what I was going to aay
[12:28]micheleC: but first we need to finish the merge to have a consistent base to start from
[12:28]micheleC: btw I have almost completed the port of fbreader to tqt3
[12:28]blu256: Oh yes? Nice!
[12:29]blu256: I have looked through its source at some point
[12:29]micheleC: what you find on TGW will SEGV if you try to run it, but locally I have made other changes which I haven't published yet, so I can run it here
[12:29]blu256: It seems like it has a lot of abstractions
[12:29]blu256: Which are needed for cross platform support
[12:30]blu256: But simplifying the code might be not worth the trouble
[12:30]micheleC: yes, because it needs to run on many different hardwares and with different graphic backends
[12:31]blu256: I on the other hand had no chance to advance much on the touchpad module yet
[12:31]micheleC: I got rid of all the non qt3 backends, no point in maintaining it
[12:31]micheleC: no worries, we are all busy with too many things to do :-)
[12:31]micheleC: btw it would be good to have the freedesktop integration in R14.1.3 if you are able to get it done by october
[12:31]micheleC: or at least part of it
[12:31]blu256: Can I use TDEHWLib for querying for touchpad devices?
[12:32]blu256: Or is it better done through XInput?
[12:32]blu256: On XDG integration: maybe I'll prioritise that instead
[12:32]micheleC: probably. tdehw uses udev in the backend, so a touchpad device would appear there. Not sure we have support on tdehw lib for them, maybe we may need to add that into tdehw lib
[12:33]blu256: OK, thanks for the info
[12:33]micheleC: np :-)
[12:33]micheleC: hope you are enjoying your trip
[12:35]blu256: I need to go for now, I might be available again tomorrow roughly at the same time. My current timezone is UTC+8 I think
[12:35]blu256: See you Michele
[12:35]micheleC: oh, almost same as mine time zone
[12:35]micheleC: utc +9
[12:35]micheleC: see you
