[05:18]inverted_rabbit: Hello. Is this a channel I can get support in?

[20:07]inverted_rabbit: Fixed the issue I wanted support with. Seems gtk-qt-engine isn't packages right in the Arch repo. Compiling myself fixed the issue of the GTK style menu being broken in kcontrol.
[20:57]SlavekB: Inverted_rabbit, I understand correctly that you did rebuild on the current version of the system to fix the problem?
[20:58]SlavekB: Or did you make a patch?
[21:16]inverted_rabbit: I rebuilt using the git instead of the package from the Arch repo.
[21:17]inverted_rabbit: The Arch repo was complaining about a missing create_kcmgtk function. Not sure what went wrong.
[21:19]SlavekB: Oh, I understand. There is built with the option WITH_GCC_VISIBILITY=ON, but hidden visibility was fixed in recent commit TDE/gtk-qt-engine@7085E78F62

[21:22]inverted_rabbit: Ah, so it's fixed in the git, just not packaged in the repo. Good to hear my system isn't weirdly screwed up.

[21:25]SlavekB: The fix is part of R14.0.13, while the current packages are R14.0.12. I will look at whether it would be possible to backport this commit separately to the current package...
[21:25]inverted_rabbit: Should the gtk3 engine be working right? Looks as if I'm trying to load any modern site in netscape navigator.
[21:26]inverted_rabbit: No styles, only color. I also compiled this one myself with no change.
[21:27]SlavekB: As far as I know, for the newer versions of GTK3, all theme engines are inoperative because GTK developers have decided that the only correct engine is the default.
[21:27]inverted_rabbit: Thanks GTK.
[21:28]SlavekB: Instead of a full theme engine, it is only possible to adjust the appearance using CSS style.
[21:30]inverted_rabbit: Does the gtk3-classic project follow this? I wouldn't imagine so. Will check.
[21:32]inverted_rabbit: I don't see anything about it but it might be possible to add a patch that allows other engines, unless I'm entirely misunderstanding how this stuff works.
