[00:08]Roey: How well can TDE work with KDE5 apps like kde-connect?

[19:59]|akh|: Roey: Per
[19:59]|akh|: Per https://userbase.kde.org/KDEConnect "Despite common misconception, you can use KDE Connect on all desktop environments."

[21:33]|akh|: Is there any way to get konsole to stop trying to display the current command output?
[21:36]|akh|: I inadvertantly catted a binary file and konsole has been hung (100% CPU) for about an hour.
[21:36]|akh|: I tried killing the cat command but to no avail.
[21:36]|akh|: It's not reponding to DCOP and I daren't send e.g. SIGUSR1 lest I terminate the process.
[21:36]|akh|: Is there anything I can do besides wait?
[21:44]SlavekB: Can Ctrl+Z throw up the process in stopped?
[21:53]|akh|: No, it's not responding to input. SIGSTOP and SIGCONT had no effect (beyond stopping and starting the konsole process)
[23:17]Roey: hola |akh|
[23:18]Roey: |akh|: ahh thank you
[23:18]|akh|: is it working for you?

[23:18]Ledutsia: hello!
[23:18]Roey: so |akh| says:
[23:18]Ledutsia: Roey just called me here :)
[23:19]Roey: <|akh|> Roey: Per
[23:19]Roey: <|akh|> Per https://userbase.kde.org/KDEConnect "Despite common misconception, you can use KDE Connect on all desktop environments."
[23:19]Roey: <|akh|> https://userbase.kde.org/KDEConnect#Installation to be specific
[23:19]Roey: |akh|: yeah Ledutsia was asking about this yesterday :)
[23:19]|akh|: :^) Looks like some interesting software
[23:19]Ledutsia: Installing works, but the Tray Icon is missing
[23:19]Roey: ;)
[23:19]Roey: does TDE use DCOP or DBUS, btw?
[23:20]Ledutsia: |akh|, it is, but, "adb" is also cool when it comes to file transfer
[23:20]|akh|: (still waiting for konsole to come back to life... <grumble>)
[23:20]|akh|: TDE uses DCOP
[23:20]Ledutsia: |akh|, What happened to "konsole" ?
[23:20]Ledutsia: By the way, is the project dead?
[23:20]Ledutsia: there haven't been any recent releases for Ubuntu
[23:20]|akh|: It plays well alongside DBUS but I don't think much has been done in regards to integrating the two
[23:21]Roey: |akh|: aye
[23:21]|akh|: I ran "cat BINARY_FILE" in a shell in konsole (terminal app). It's been unresponsive at 100% CPU for about two hours now
[23:21]Roey: oh also Ledutsia there is of course #kdeconnect
[23:22]Ledutsia: |akh|, So, do you know, why I don't get a tray icon of KDE Connect in Trinity?
[23:25]|akh|: I just installed it (I'm on Ubuntu Jammy) and it installs in the K menu under Internet→KDE→KDE Connect Indicator
[23:26]|akh|: From the commandline it appears to be kdeconnect-indicator
[23:31]Ledutsia: |akh|, Thank you!
[23:33]|akh|: de nada
[23:33]Ledutsia: bad news
[23:33]Ledutsia: it's broken
[23:34]|akh|: how so?
[23:34]Ledutsia: Left clicks don't work
[23:35]Ledutsia: I want to type on my computer and receive the keys on my Android device
[23:35]Ledutsia: for that, I need to select a specific option from the tray icon
[23:35]Ledutsia: but nothing happens upon a left click
[23:35]Ledutsia: a right click only shows "Configure"
[23:35]Ledutsia: and that's the main app
[23:35]|akh|: try right click→Configure
[23:35]Ledutsia: done - that's something different to what I need
[23:36]|akh|: I think that's all you get
[23:36]Ledutsia: no worries, I will go a different route
[23:36]|akh|: not sure though, not familiar with it
[23:36]Ledutsia: anbox + an app that lets me send texts to android
[23:36]Ledutsia: currently I am just trying to figure out how to start the app without the "appmgr"
[23:36]Ledutsia: but that's offtopic in trinity
[23:36]|akh|: appmgr?
[23:37]Ledutsia: |akh|, yeah, that's the "app manager", the "Android Home Screen" in "anbox"
[23:37]Ledutsia: Anbox being an Android Emulator
[23:37]Ledutsia: so I can run Messaging apps here and send texts over to my phone
[23:37]Ledutsia: I am just looking for a fast route to send texts forth and back
[23:38]|akh|: i'm not familair with any of the sw you mentioned
[23:38]Ledutsia: no worries, my bad
[23:38]Ledutsia: thank you for the nice chat!
[23:38]|akh|: my advice would be to follow the instructions in the link that I posted
[23:38]Ledutsia: yep
[23:39]|akh|: looks interesting though. I've ised a few android remotes in the past but they were all a bit clunky. Maybe this one's different
[23:41]Ledutsia: heh, have fun with it :)
