[11:21] | neeeow: Hello all. I posted about my issues in the mailing list, but I figured I might as well ask here. I want to port some old KWin decorations over to TDE. To ensure that I have all the dependencies required to compile TWin decorations, I wanted to try compiling the twin-style-fahrenheit TWin theme. I cloned the git repo and followed the build instructions laid out in the wiki. However, when I try to compile it, cmake throws the error " 'twin' is |
[11:22] | neeeow: required, but is not installed nor selected for build ". I imagine I am missing some component required to compile the theme. I've installed the packages trinity-tdesdk and trinity-twin-devel. If it helps, I'm running TDE R14.1.2 on Fedora 40 (I have also tried compiling it on openSUSE I receive the same error). Could someone please point me in the right direction - I'd really appreciate it !! |
[11:38] | denk: neeeow: after "I try to compile it" you should share the cmake logs otherwise it looks like "I did something but it does not work, why?" |
[11:41] | SlavekB: twin.cmake is in RPM packages within the package trinity-tdebase-devel, so you need not only trinity-twin-devel but also trinity-debase-devel. |
[11:56] | neeeow: denk: My apologies; here is a pastebin of 'CMakeConfigureLog.yaml' (I imagine that's the correct log file) https://pastebin.com/FDvPFCXm |
[11:57] | neeeow: SlavekB: I can't seem to find trinity-debase-devel in the trinity repos. Running dnf se trinity-debase-devel returns nothing. |
[11:57] | neeeow: In advance I apologise if I'm a bit slow, been quite some time since I last worked on a project with cmake. |

[11:59] | VictiniFan360: Hello again! |
[12:00] | VictiniFan360: I've translated a lot. '=D |
[12:00] | neeeow: Actually, I have resolved it! |
[12:00] | neeeow: Indeed I was missing trinity-tdebase-devel. Many thanks to you both denk and SlavekB for assisting me. Have a lovely afternoon !! |
[12:01] | VictiniFan360: A question, |
[12:01] | VictiniFan360: When will my translations push it to 'Gitea'? |
[12:01] | VictiniFan360: Anyways, I'll keep translating |
[12:01] | SlavekB: The translations are pushed as standard after 24 hours. |
[12:02] | VictiniFan360: Okay, thanks! |

[12:11] | micheleC: @neeeow: please take note that twin decoration plugins have a different name between R14.2.x (master) and R14.1.x (one is twin and one twin3). This was a problem initially in farhenheit in R14.1.x, so if you are working on porting some other themes, take note of that |
[12:11] | micheleC: will be good to add more themes to TDE if you manage to convert some more :-) |

[12:20] | neeeow: micheleC: Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely share my work here once it's done. Working on porting over the old Red Hat Bluecurve theme to TDE, loved using it back in the day. I already ported over the GTK2 theme to GTK3/4. |
