[05:36]pitriss: micheleC: Hi, I just reported issue about weird soundconverter colors when dark theme is used.. IIRC there was something similar with konsole :)
[05:37]pitriss: Nothing app breaking but it makes app very bad readable.. It is long term issue but I got no time to document and report it properly earlier :)
[05:38]pitriss: https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/soundkonverter/issues/34 this one :)
[05:39]micheleC: there was something like that for kstreamripper at the end of 2023 IIRC
[05:39]pitriss: Ah yeah, konsole had issue with tab colors only..
[05:40]pitriss: For convenience I uploaded and linked also my kcsrc file..
[05:40]micheleC: (y)
[05:41]micheleC: it looks similar to that previous one, by judging from the colors
[05:41]pitriss: Any idea from where are these ghost colors coming from? Are they calculated?
[05:42]micheleC: probably hardcoded into the code
[05:42]pitriss: ahh
[05:42]micheleC: maybe it wasn't kstreamripper but some other apps.
[05:42]micheleC: there are no issues reported against kstreamripper in TGW
[05:42]micheleC: I must recall the app wrongly
[05:43]pitriss: no worries.. it does not matter.. especially if it's only brainfart of original author.. :)
[05:44]micheleC: if you can find the previous fix, it may be similar. since the colors look similar too
[05:45]pitriss: I doubt it.. I'm the one who use weird TDE apps here.. :D
[05:46]micheleC: :-D
[05:47]pitriss: I got used to the fact that I fall in love to some app nobody uses here and find bugs in it..
[05:50]pitriss: BTW, are there plans to add some custom keywords to the tderunner (that Alt+F2 thingy)? I would love to extend its functionality by defining keyword and pair it with script/app.. eg qc and it would use qalc and do something.. eg Currency conversion..
[05:50]pitriss: we discussed this years ago here.. :)
[05:51]micheleC: you can use KHotkeys to create shortcuts to launch apps
[05:52]micheleC: the functionality is already there, you just need to add the actions that you want
[05:52]pitriss: I see that there are replacements with such functionality.. but they are not TDE native :) I am using kdialog in shell scripts for this and khotkeys too..
[05:53]micheleC: it's TDE native. Goes to the control center and look for Input Actions
[05:54]pitriss: Yeah.. I meant when app/script needs input from user then it gets messy and kdialog needs to be used.. which complicate whole thing..
[05:54]pitriss: But maybe I'll write some wrapper using kdialog for myself to hack around that :D
[05:55]Amakusa has joined
[05:55]pitriss: At the moment I am just jumping into shell and use it inside cli.. alt+f2 could be quicker..
[05:57]micheleC: we are adding shortcuts for weblinks in one PR
[05:57]micheleC: but not sure it can launch apps
[05:57]micheleC: but you could define some wrapper scripts in a folder that is in PATH, then you should be able to call it from Alt+F2
[06:02]pitriss: https://gist.github.com/Pitriss/5ed907fce1684e3d01b24ba9c7f46605 //this is what I did to be able to use GUI for user input (my messy YT downloader). And I meant krunner could do this instead of kdialog.. just config with alias - script and then when I use known alias then it would just launch script and pass the rest to the script..
[06:02]pitriss: As to have separate hotkey for scripts can get messy pretty quick..
[06:04]pitriss: *for each script
[06:06]micheleC: sure, YMMV depending on your use cases/needs
[06:06]micheleC: I use KHotKeys but I don't need a lot of shortcuts
[06:07]pitriss: I have many scripts to enhance my QoL.. So if they could be run by runner, then my life would be even easier..
[06:08]pitriss: But if not, nevermind.. it was just idea..
[06:09]pitriss: If i find some time, I might try to emulate this by some bash and kdialog + specific window settings to mimic runner with that alias thing.. should be not so hard to script this in bash or ruby
[06:11]micheleC: if the scripts are all in the same folder, you just need to add the folder to the PATH. Then I think KRun would be able to pick them up already
[06:14]pitriss: Yeah I thought about that.. but then it is quite inconvenient.. like.. need to do proper quoting of input strings.. where my version works like window pop out and I just paste from clipboard and let script do all the heavylifting for me.. convenient as YT links tend to use many parameters with ampersands which make bash not so happy :D
[06:15]pitriss: No worries I will figure it out.. I'm just script addict and I know it.. I like to have ton of tiny scripts for a ton of tiny tasks to make my life happier..
[06:16]micheleC: (y)
[06:17]pitriss: I definitely love Trinity project.. And I have no plans to abandon it.. But as I grow, just some parts feel too rigid for me.. but it is just about preferences..
[06:27]micheleC: of course, we are all different people :-)
