[10:13]SlavekB: Hi blu256
[10:13]SlavekB: I came across one other little problem with tdesyndaemon.
[10:14]SlavekB: If it is enabled, it will not be automatically started when the session is started.
[10:14]blu256: Hello Slavek
[10:15]SlavekB: It starts only when the touchpad module is opened in TCC.
[10:15]blu256: It won't? It should be automatically started when touchpad settings are initialized by kcminit
[10:16]SlavekB: I verified it yesterday on my Pinebook and after opening the session the demon was not startled.
[10:16]blu256: Ok, I'll double-check that, I will be fixing some bugs with tdesyndaemon anyway
[10:17]SlavekB: When I opened the TCC and checked on the touchpad module to see if the demon was enabled, then the demon was started.
[10:17]blu256: Did the other touchpad settings apply normally on session start?
[10:18]SlavekB: That's a good question.
[10:19]blu256: tdesyndaemon should start automatically on condition that a) supported touchpad was detected; b) the driver is Synaptics; c) "Keyboard off while typing" is on
[10:19]blu256: of course if the touchpad settings instance was created by kcminit in the first place
[10:21]SlavekB: The question is, what should cause initialization during the opening of session?
[10:22]SlavekB: It is clear that initialization will occur at the time of TCC opening.
[10:22]blu256: kcminit should

[10:23]tde-bot: Page title: TDEConfig Module HOWTO - Trinity Desktop Project Wiki
[10:24]blu256: we do that
[10:24]blu256: you can check by calling kcminit touchpad
[10:25]blu256: if you have debug output on it should output "applying touchpad settings"
[10:26]SlavekB: Ok I understand, I see it is set up in desktop file.
[10:36]blu256: btw have you seen my comments on TDE/tdebase#527 ?
[10:36]tde-bot: [TGW][tdebase] #527 - KControl: implement dynamic module tests
[10:36]tde-bot: https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/tdebase/pulls/527
[10:38]SlavekB: about TDE/tdebase#534?
[10:38]tde-bot: [TGW][tdebase] #534 - KControl: Add option to toggle visibility of hidden modules
[10:38]tde-bot: https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/tdebase/pulls/534
[10:39]blu256: yes
[10:39]SlavekB: it seems to me like a very good idea
[10:40]blu256: ok that's good to know
[10:40]blu256: any luck with the tdesyndaemon problem?
[10:41]SlavekB: In fact, I have already open this new PR while I trigger a builds of tdebase with a patch for Joystick modul.
[10:43]SlavekB: I don't look at the problem with the touchpad module now - I'm at the desktop machine at work and I will find time for an attempt on Pinebook some later in a day.
[10:44]blu256: ok, same here, currently at desktop machine so can't actually check
[10:47]blu256: the problem could be with the use of tdeinitExec() function, I'll definitely look into that possibility later
